Justin Bieber and Super Bowl

Justin Bieber and Super Bowl, together? Guess never thought you’d hear these two words in one sentence but it’s out there.

The 16-year-old teen pop-star teased his Twitter followers last week by saying, “Can’t really say what I’m up to today but when u guys find out its gonna be funny as heck,” adding, “#todaywasepic.”

Thanks to USA Today for giving us a speak peak of what’s Bieber up to these days.

What’s keeping our heartthrob busy is the Superbowl ad he’s making. Bieber is so excited about it because he is working alongside Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

We’re not sure how many teen girls who are a fan of NFL, and also a fan of Biebers. He and the the 62-year-old rock legend have joined forces to film a commercial for electronics retail giant Best Buy. From what we have seen so far, the ad will be futuristic.

There are no specific details of the 30-second spot have turned up. What we only know is the ad will air during the game’s third quarter, and was filmed earlier this month at Universal Studios.

Why did they choose Bieber? Marketing Chief Drew Panayiotou explained, “Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot. He symbolically represents something important to the brand message. Very rarely do you get a big brand looking to evolve into something else. We want to get this brand to a different place.”

Best Buy will run more Justin ads and Facebook updates through 2011. Not only that. Justin Bieber is currently on a promotional tour for his upcoming movie Never Say Never which is due out in theaters on February 11th, 2011.
